Members of ARC Network, in collaboration with Dr Anna Mountford-Zimdars from Kings College, London have recently completed a major new study examining the current evidence base around contextualised admissions in HE. The report, commissioned by SPA, is due for publication later this month and key findings will be presented at a special SPA Conference being held on 23rd October 2013 in London. The HEFCE commissioned ARC Network review of research into widening participation has recently been published. The review was commissioned to inform the national strategy for access and student success which HEFCE and the Office for Fair Access are jointly developing. The report reviews a selection of research and evaluation work from 2006 to the present day, mainly covering published empirical research. The report offers recommendations aimed at national policymakers, institutional managers and policymakers, and widening participation practitioners.
